We recently utilized the same facility we constructed as a sustainability learning lab for the local community. Collaborating with Oregon School District and renewable energy experts from Slipstream and MG&E’s gave us an opportunity to share different methods of energy efficiency with the community. Our commitment to sustainability is always evolving as we continue to learn how to make our trade even more sustainable.
To us, “Building & Beyond” means teaching and sharing information about protecting our environment. At our recent “Journey to Net Zero” presentation, held at the first net-zero school in Wisconsin, Forest Edge Elementary School, our panelists of experts shared ideas on how to approach the planning and design of a facility of the future. Groups enjoyed tours of the elementary school and saw examples of how the facility is used as a teaching tool within the curriculum. Other presentations included energy modeling and target identification, rooftop solar options, and how to achieve a lesser carbon footprint.
“Our training partnership with Findorff, MG&E, and the Oregon School District was phenomenal. I am confident that attendees will have a greater understanding that net zero buildings are a reality.” – Syed Abbas, Director of Education and Training at Slipstream
