Wisconsin State Capitol Dome Restoration Phase 1
In September 2009, Findorff started reconstructive work to repair and restore Wisconsin’s Landmark Capitol dome. This special restoration project involved the placement of a dehumidifier below the building’s granite dome to prevent moisture buildup.
Findorff also restored the building’s exterior, which included replacing the sealant and mortar joints, repairing stone cracks and other defects on the dome, balustrade and lantern. Additional tuck-pointing, caulking, and interior painting were also part of the project scope.
