Sun Prairie Area School District

Sun Prairie, WI

Findorff has a long-standing relationship with the Sun Prairie Area School District. We have completed numerous projects over decades ranging from $5,000 to $90 million. Our team members have had the pleasure to either build or remodel projects at all 12 schools in the District. Our most recent work in the district includes the following:

SUN PRAIRIE HIGH SCHOOL
The 427,000-square-foot high school includes a 1,000-seat performing arts center, four-station gymnasium, swimming pool, clusters of small learning centers, and a cafeteria accommodating 1,000 students at a time. The entire school is heated and cooled by a large geothermal system located below the baseball fields. Designed for 2,000 students, the key goals that guided the project included:

  • A personalized learning environment
  • A healthy and sustainable learning community
  • The establishment of the School as a center that fosters community pride

CREEKSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Findorff was hired to assist the District in the planning and design prcoess of an early childhood through 5th grade prototype. Creekside Elementary School, as well as Horizon Elementary School, are products of this process, combining a common floor plan with original exterior design concepts particular to the different neighborhoods and students they serve. Important project features include:

  • Enhanced learning through integrated technology
  • A “small school” culture
  • Support of neighborhood schools as centers for the community
  • Engagement of the public in the planning process
  • Healthy, comfortable, and flexible learning spaces
  • A geothermal heating and cooling system to reduce operational costs
