Madison Museum of Contemporary Art
Anchoring the west end of the Overture Center, the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMoCA) involved the construction of several galleries including one dedicated to the museum’s permanent collection and a small gallery devoted to film and video work.
Other areas of the facility include a lecture hall, study center, and rooftop sculpture terrace and café. Located at the corner of Henry and State Streets, MMoCA’s stunning three-story glass exterior is one of the most notable aspects of the building.
The Museum Store has doubled its original size and opens onto a lobby and dramatic glass icon that serves as a gathering area for museum openings and other functions. The new museum is also equipped with a professional loading dock and a state of-the-art HVAC system to ensure the long-term care of the museum’s growing permanent collection..
