Madison, WI

Madison Investment Advisors, Inc. selected Findorff to plan and build the firm’s new headquarters on a sloping, wooded site in Madison’s University Research Park in 2000 and an addition to the building in 2011.

Findorff provided preconstruction services, including estimating, value engineering, and phase scheduling, and presented the firm with a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the entire project in 2000. The two-story facility included many distinctive building materials, including exterior lead coated copper paneling and Florida and Australian cypress woodwork.

In 2011, the Madison Investment Advisors teamed up with Findorff once again to create a newly expanded work environment for employees. This 11,000 square foot addition is connected with a new bridge to the existing building designed earlier by the same architect. The design of the new building is intended to be compatible with and respectful of the existing, though not a clone. The Madison Investment Advisors Office renovation consisted of multiple construction materials to allow for a stunning building with incredible architectural details. Interior details included exposed board formed concrete, architectural exposed steel columns and beams, and architectural exposed wood for the structure of the building. The exterior skin consisted of thick Cyprus wood siding, cement board siding, exterior plaster and aluminum framed glazing. Additional unique details includde a geo-thermal field and roof top solar panels for more efficient mechanical systems.
