Graze is one of two jointly owned and operated restaurants located in the US Bank building in downtown Madison. While its counterpart, L’etoile, offers a more fine dining experience, Graze’s “gastropub” format features more casual dining.
Graze Restaurant features simple materials, bold utilitarian forms and saturated colors. The modern take on agricultural elements is humble and honest – barnwood siding, cast concrete bar top and iron pipe doorpulls and footrails. Bright colors are inspired from the basic hues of fresh market produce and vibrant shades of paint used for farm machinery.
A very large industrial sash picture window into the kitchen was designed as much to connect the diners with the activity and workings of the kitchen as to allow the chef and his staff a view of the dining room and connection to the street life beyond.
